ABOUT
KIKe is a “Yes”. “Yes” to Kenyan art. “Yes” to more women on stage. “Yes” to new talents. “Yes” to nurturing talents. “Yes” to telling better stories of the industry. “Yes” to collaboration. “Yes” to excellence.
KIKe is a avowal: “It ends with us.” Let those Sauti Sol “Brighter Days” come.
KIKe is a question: “For whom do we art?”
THIS NOVEMBER
We have an all-female leads residency tour every Monday at Wasanii Restaurant. If whatever we build works for women, it will work for men. Not vice versa.
Inspired by Munira Hussein’s (@munirasmind) book we call this, the “Unfit for Society” tour.
THE BEAT
We will have an open mic with the intention that with time they will also be lead acts.
We will have a discussion addressing various topics affecting the industry.
We will have a platform for writers in collaboration with Books of Kenya (@booksofkenya).
We will have a 30-minute opening act (male or female). We will close with a one-hour live band performance.
Kazi Kwetu.
